A fandom run fest is an event where participants create fanworks for a specific, pre-designated theme, and post them during a set time-frame (typically a week, or sometimes an entire month) across various social media platforms.The goal of our events is to positively engage with our fandom community and inspire creativity. At the end of the day, that's what fandom is all about. Let's get back to our roots and CREATE! ♥

Gift Exchanges

A fandom run gift exchange is an event hosted on AO3 (where you will sign-up and post to) in which event moderators assign you to create a fanwork gift for another participant. All works are required to be finished by a set deadline and remain anonymous for a week until the official "reveal" date.The goal of our events is to positively engage with our fandom community and inspire creativity. What better way to do so than with gifts curated special for one another? ♥

Traditionally there are two types of bangs:
Big Bangs and Reverse Bangs.In a Big Bang, authors write fic specifically for the bang. Artists then sign up to create art based on a bang fic's summary, before the fic is posted. Both fic and art are completed by a certain deadline and posted together.In a Reverse Bang, the order is reversed: art is created first and writers sign up to create fic for a rough draft of an art piece. In both cases, there is a minimum word count for the fic (traditionally, no less than 5k).There are two aims with a bang: to have longer fics and higher quality art for a specific, pre-designated theme, and to have art created for fic or fic created for art.Participants may or may not be required to sign up in advance of draft submissions/draft claims, depending on the rules of the individual bang.(source of bang definition & info)Stay tuned for more information from FLT for future bangs/reverse bangs!
